Sunday, April 3rd we hosted a delayed Easter gathering with friends. The large trampoline which the previous owners left us was an attraction for all the kids. I've only had our own kids on it a few times and on it just one at a time. Well, long story short, two other dad's were out supervising and there were three kids on it. We heard screams from inside the kitchen as we were preparing dinner and a dad was rushing towards the house carrying Jameson (no other kids were hurt). He was bleeding heavily from the mouth and as we looked more closely we realized that two teeth had been completely stripped :( We called the pediatrician's office, who told us to call our dentist. After paging our dentist and hearing back, we had an appointment scheduled with an oral surgeon the next morning to ensure that the teeth had been extracted (not pushed in) and that the permanent teeth were still in place. The next day X-rays showed that all was as good as it could have been. We have the option of placing a wire (hooking on the upper back teeth) with two fake teeth hanging off it to fill the void, but we've grown accustomed to our little toothless monster :) |
