Ava 10 Months

Upon turning 10 months, Ava showed that she has a love for climbing the stairs.  She always wants to be let down so that she can go up them herself and her big brother loves to hurry up them in order to stand at the top and cheer her on.  He'll cheer, "You can do it Ava!  You can do it!!" and then clap for her once she reaches the top.  It's pretty adorable!!!

Some other notes about Ava at 10 months...she's started letting go once standing in order to stand independently without support, she cries a lot when getting her diaper changed or getting her hands/face wiped after eating, she loves baths, doesn't show as much interest in Emma as Jameson did in the dogs - but does show a lot of interest in Jameson :)

We're still her safety net ;)
Ava's a celebrity!  This was published on August 5th in the Coloradoan Newspaper.  It depicts us at the Harvest Park neighborhood ice cream social on August 4th (just across the street from our house).  The photographer approached me after taking the shot to get our information, but I didn't think anything of it (and she reported Ava was 11mo, when she was just shy of 11mo hence this being included in her 10mo blog post).  The day after the ice cream social, a friend text me about seeing us in the paper.  It's actually a really large photo - 6x9in!!!  A pretty big and fun surprise.

My shot.  Loving chocolate like her brother.

Yum, yum.

Happy summer baby.  She's spent a lot of time in strollers this season - good thing she likes them (for the most part)!

"Hi Mom!"  Rob sent me this picture while I was away for a two night stay in the mountains attending a MOPS leadership retreat.  It was my first time away from the kids (including Jameson) overnight.  I left Friday evening after putting Ava down to bed and returned home on Sunday around noon, so not too long but I'm sure Saturday felt like the longest day of the year to Rob!  And while Ava has been on solid foods since 6mo old, she is also still breastfeeding.  This was her first attempt with drinking milk (doctor approved) and it was a success!  Woohoo :)

To stay sane, Rob took the kids on lots of stroller rides.

For the retreat, we stayed in one of the women in our group's vacation home up in Dillon, CO close to Breckenridge.  This is the view off the balcony of my room which I shared with a couple other women.  While it was a relaxing stay and offered some nice adult time, I really missed the kids and couldn't seem to take advantage of the opportunity for more sleep :(  I laid in bed each night and woke up each morning thinking to myself, "Seriously?!?!"
