Dinner date following my 36 week OB appointment

This boy will eat everything - including a crab claw.  He is so much fun.  Even on the way here, he insisted on walking and stopped in front of each restaurant/store front playing music to spend a few moments dancing on the sidewalk.  We laughed along hysterically with onlookers :)
Bib partners.

Sour, but he asks for more - like I said, he'll eat everything!  The waiter didn't believe us, so he brought out another wedge and watched in amazement.  Jameson didn't flinch.

Grapes

Jameson has been loving the grapes off the vine we planted a couple of summers ago (they are smaller and sweeter grapes).  Only problem....apparently the birds love them just as much.  The last couple of days we haven't been able to find any :(  It's sad when Jameson heads over in excitement of finding some.

36 weeks

4 weeks to go and a race to get the basement finished.  Can't wait to have the much needed play space for the kid"s" :)
Fun seeing a reminder of our previous basement work from when I was pregnant with Jameson.  The crawl space that Rob finished is in the background behind the hanging black plastic.  During this current construction, we're getting a staircase built so that we don't have to use a step stool to get in and out of it anymore.  That will be nice!

Thursday, August 14th

Jameson: happy at 19 months old.  Mom: officially stay-at-home momma at 35 weeks pregnant.  This was the end of my first day as a full-time stay-at-home mom.  It was an emotional week for me, but so exciting for our family.  We're adjusting rather nicely (as you can see).

Erika Visits! (July 27)

Erika took a trip east to the Rocky Mountains!!!  We were so excited to have her come visit.  She brought the necessary ingredients for chicken mole (teaching us her mom's recipe - YUM!) and bottles of California red wine (which I can't wait to start sampling in a few weeks!).  We had a blast just hanging out, bumming around Fort Collins and Boulder and heading into the mountains.

32 weeks pregnant.

Jameson stayed in the carrier the majority of our hike, but when Rob let him walk (as Jameson's wanting to do these days) we all stayed on the lookout for rattlesnakes.  The posted warning sign accompanied by some rustling in the grass as we entered the hiking path left quite the impression on me and Erika!  I wouldn't have been brave enough to let him down...lucky for Jameson (and me!), daddy was along for the hike.

July MI Trip for Penelope's Baptism

Another fun summer trip out to Michigan!  We were lucky enough to snag a ride north from the O'Hare airport with Aunt Alecia and the girls.  They were great with Jameson and entertained him the entire 7 hour car ride (made me wonder what Rob and I were so stressed about on our first drive up to MI in May!).

"Jameson whisperer" cousins,  Katie and Olivia :)

With Rob staying home in Colorado this trip (boy, was airplane travel harder on my own this time!), Jameson grew more and more attached to "Papa" Pilat.  We can't wait for him to come out to Colorado in just a few weeks when Jameson's little sister is born!

Happy Baptism, Cousin Penelope!!!  I am blessed to be Penelope's Godmother.

Sweet kisses from dad.

Jameson trying to already share his love of balls with his little cousin - not sure she's ready for that yet...

and definitely not ready for kisses from little boys yet!!!!

Learning how to drive Uncle Matthew's new boat (and lookin' good in pink doing it).

A sunny ride out on the water.

Smiles for Grandma Lou!

Grandma Lou setting Jameson up for success on the high seas!  We've obviously got some time to practice on dry land before inching into the water.

NH Visit

Middle of June, we headed to visit family in New Hampshire.  These gardens are part of the grounds of Pickity Place, a great garden-to-table restaurant in rural NH.  Jameson loves animals, so seeing a "bunny" elicits an excited "Hop, Hop" from him!

We were excited to meet Alecia - Jameson made a new friend!

Jameson and Aunt Donna in the garden.

An afternoon hike to the top of a watchtower with Daddy.

It's important to stop and smell the flowers - in Jameson's case, he attempts to smell (and blow his nose) by quickly sniffing in and out.  At least he's got half the idea!

A day trip to Hampton Beach along the NH coast.

Father and son.

Fun on the beach with Grammy.   Inspired by the sand sculpture competition, Grammy brought some basic tools so Jameson could dig around in the sand.

Mommy and baby girl at 27 weeks.

Apparently we're very excited about the incoming wave.

Collaborating cousins.  Thank you Auntie Karen for the matching shirts....priceless!

All aboard!

Happy 40th Wedding Anniversary!  We all surprised Mom and Dad with a backyard celebration full of friends, family, and fun!

The festivities in full swing.  There was plenty of space inside and outside for socializing, with catered barbeque and gourmet cupcakes, posterboards documenting 40 years of family, and lawn games for adults and kids alike.

First and second cousins... they may soon be outnumbering us!

Siblings!  Welcome baby Sarah Marie - we love you!

We were happy to be able to time our visit to celebrate Sarah Marie's Baptism.

What a sweet little angel.  We are thrilled that our baby girl and her cousin Sarah will be so close in age.

Sandbox fun at the Landers' house after the Baptism.  This shady spot is under their new swing set.  Jameson had a blast digging in more sand and of course had a great time swinging as well.

Aunt Michelle and little Sarah

We took a quick trip over to Peach Tree Farm, an ice cream farmstand close to Grammy and Grandpa's house.  Jameson identifies a lot of animals by their noises: "Buk, buk, buk" for the chickens.  Little kids making animal noises is adorable, but I must admit that it took us by surprise the first time he identified his meal by saying, "Buk, buk, buk".  Hard to tell exactly what connections he's made...

It took him a few tries to muster up the courage, but Jameson eventually warmed up to feeding some clover to a friendly goat.

The four of us at the farm - we all enjoyed the ice cream!

Yum, yum!

Gender Reveal: It's a.....

Boy or Girl????  We went out for dinner and drinks, accompanied by our reveal package.  We patiently waited to order drinks (mine, a yummy strawberry non-alcoholic treat) and then it was time....

It's a GIRL!!!!!!!!!!  We had so much fun enjoying the rest of the evening and envisioning life with a little boy and little girl at home :)

We had a blast revealing the gender to family in person since we had trips planned to the Midwest and East Coast.  Our reveal?  Candy.  Dark chocolate truffles....green mint center would mean boy and pink raspberry center would mean girl.

After visiting with family in Illinois, we drove up to Michigan and made the reveal to Natalie and Matthew.  Natalie couldn't be more excited for Penelope - girl cousins that will be so close in age!

Then our trip to the east coast.  We had so much fun revealing that little Sarah, too, would have a girl cousin so close in age!
