Ava wanting to be like her big brother (November 2015)

I will be thrilled if she potty trains sooner than her "big" brother!!!  This picture was her at 14 months and now at 18 months, she's started to express some more interest again so we'll see!

While she's super girly at times, she also loves to love what her brother does.  Who makes the cuter dino?  It's a toss-up :)

Thanksgiving weekend with visitors!

Aunt Donna, Uncle Pete and Oliver came out from Cali to spend Thanksgiving weekend with us and we were thrilled.  We always have so much fun when they visit and with their newest addition, Oliver, it was even more fun!!!

Oliver and Ava are just under 6 months apart.

Being from LA...they were excited to introduce Oliver to snow for the first time.

Happy snow baby :)

Thanksgiving dinner with all the traditional dishes (although our means of cooking the turkey was a bit non-traditional to say the least!).

Jameson dressed for Thanksgiving Game Day.

Vroom!  Vroom!  The chase is on.

Oliver and Uncle Rob.

Love this face :)

Such cute little people.

Oliver bracing for whatever Jameson might do.

Oliver ate solid foods for the first time - such a fun thing to witness with babies!  Oh, and it was a success!

Ava - 14mo, Jameson - 2yr 10mo

Holding each other back, or holding onto each other???  Hmm.

Watching the boys is always entertaining.

Playing ball with Uncle Pete.  "Uncle Pete" is one of Jameson's favorite people to pretend call.

Oliver: "Alright, what's it going to be this time?  Just clue me in cousin."

Halloween

It's time to trick-or-treat (this is also Jameson's favorite dress-up costume - go figure!).

Jameson's dress rehearsal first thing Halloween morning.

Ava wanting to be like her brother.  She actually started trying to get the feet on herself and then would bring over each piece to me for assistance in getting dressed :)  Her dino roar isn't quite as mean as her brother's, but it's a close second!

Our cute little pumpkin :)

We met up with friends for dinner and dessert before heading out and braving the hundred children combing the streets of our neighborhood.
(Side note: These chocolate eyeballs served double duty when I discovered what a motivational potty training tool they were!)

And they're off.....
Face-to-face with a giant spider - no match for this T-Rex!
Those dinosaur feet made stairs at night "a little tricky" as Jameson would say.

A day trip to a local farm for pumpkins and other fall fun.

With all the squirming he does it was hard to pin down an exact height, but it's safe to say he's over 3ft. 1 in.

This was the best shot I could get before Ava started squealing and Jameson started having more and more fun getting a rise out of her.

Tractor ride which Jameson nearly fell asleep on.

Fun with pumpkin guts! Jameson dressed prepared.

Ava getting in on the action - and on the slime!  Unfortunately, we never snapped a picture of the carved pumpkin, but it was according to Jameson's design of "a happy pumpkin".
Fall leaves...Jameson loved the crunching sound when he walked on them.

We made a great team helping out daddy while Ava napped.

Smiling Jameson :)

A couple quick photos to capture a moment in time - late October, enjoying walks around our old neighborhood, stops at the park and butterfly garden across the street from our first house.  I sure miss that neighborhood!  The other thing that is fun about these pictures is that Jameson is smiling on command - not all that common up until this time.

Opa and Barbara Visit!!

The day after we returned home from Michigan, Opa and his friend, Barbara, drove up to Fort Collins to visit us for the day and evening. Earlier that week, they drove cross country from Sycamore, IL to Wheat Ridge, CO to visit Barbara's daughter who moved out west a year ago.  Wheat Ridge is just 1 hour south of Fort Collins.  Still can't believe they drove the entire trip in Opa's yellow VW Bug (Opa is 82 years old!).  Do youthful acts keep us young?!?  ;)

Ava and Jameson had so much fun.  Ava went into Opa's arms so easily - just as easily as I remember Jameson doing when he was a baby.  Opa has a way with babies.  This was a visit to treasure, for sure!  And while I would have loved for Grandma to share such a wonderful visit, I know she is watching and with us daily!!!

Love you, Opa (and your shirt...hehe)!  Hope the Illinois relatives (which is most of our entire extended family) don't feel too hurt!

Thank you so much for coming out to visit!!  Sorry it was a cloudy and rainy day!  At least the weather gave us good reason to relax and visit indoors while the kids played (Jameson keeps referring to his cars as the "cars Opa gave me" and Ava has a growing affection for stuffed animals, so the kids are very appreciative of the gifts!).

Jameson "photobombing" (to drop in a photo unexpectedly) at the age of 2.5!
